Catena, an emerging nanotech company, is seeking motivated civil engineering students to join our team as part-time interns. We're pioneering nanotechnology to create stronger, more durable concrete for construction, aiming to reduce costs and environmental impact in the building sector.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Materials Science program
  • Familiarity with concrete testing methods, particularly ASTM C143 slump testing
  • Basic understanding of concrete mix design principles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to record accurate field/lab data
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work with PPE in a lab environment
  • Self-motivated with a genuine interest in nanotechnology and advanced

Responsibilities

  • Conduct slump tests on nanotech-modified concrete mixtures in accordance with ASTM C143 standards
  • Prepare and proportion concrete batches per established mix design protocols
  • Record, document, and report test data accurately and consistently
  • Assist with sample preparation, curing, and specimen handling
  • Observe and note workability characteristics of nanotech-enhanced versus control concrete mixes
  • Collaborate with Catena's R&D team to identify trends and anomalies in test results
  • Maintain a clean and organized testing workspace
